The addition opeator (+) adds the given numbers togehter, saving them in one variable:
2 + 4 + 7 = 13
The subtraction operator (-) subtracts the second number (subtrahend) from the first number (minuend):
7 - 4 = 3
The multiplication operator (*) multiplies the numbers and saves them in one variable:
2 * 7 = 14
The division operator (/) divides the first number (dividend) using the second number as the divisor:
2 / 4 = 0.5
The exponentiation operator (**) raises the first number (base) by the second number (exponent). It is very similar to a multiplication which is way the operator also looks similar:
7 ** 2 = 49
